Ms. Shanette Gaston received a B.S. in Community Based Education from Northern Illinois University and is currently pursuing a Masters in Educational Leadership. Ms. Gaston has 3 years of experience as a Field Coordinator for America Reads, a program that trains college tutors to teach reading to kindergarten to fourth grades. Ms. Gaston is also a member of the Future Teacher organization, the National Education Association and Toastmasters International. She has received recognition as a CTM (Certified Toast Master).
Ms. Gaston has taught kindergarten for seven years and is currently teaching her second year of 1st grade. Additionally, Ms. Gaston served as the LWCA summer camp director for five years, LWCA cheerleading coach for four years, currently the coordinator for our annual Family Fun Reading Night, currently the grade-level chair for the primary department, and served as a member of the accreditation team.
