Mr. Tarvies D. Smith, Sr. holds a Masters’ Degree in School Counseling (M.A.) from Concordia University, Master’s Degree in Public Administration (M.P.A.) from Eastern Illinois University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (B.A.) from Eastern Illinois University. Mr. Smith is also a Qualified Mental Health Practitioner (QMHP) with state and ACSI certifications. He is a member of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), which is a nationally recognized organization for professional counselors.
Mr. Smith has both field and academic training in the following disciplines of counseling: Addictions, Violence Prevention, Anger Management, Conflict Resolution, Academic and Career Counseling, Grief Counseling, Community / School Counseling and Youth Development. He is the Middle School Counselor here at Living Word Christian Academy (LWCA).
